(UN)ROOTED – The Playground
This is another excerpt of the first piece of the production (UN)ROOTED performed at the VORTEX in Austin, TX – December 13-15, 2018. This excerpt brings the dance and the music together, with a will of bringing the musicians into movement. The sound informs the movement and vice-versa. We can see here the surrender of one person to a group she trusts, letting herself be guided by them and dropping her guard, resting in that peaceful sensation of being fully supported by others.

LES ELEMENTS
This performance took place at the VORTEX’s 9th annual Garden Party on March 23rd 2019 in Austin, TX.
The Garden Party edition of les éléments showcased a different variation of man’s experience with the four natural elements. Rather than being an observation if man’s identity, mankind is treated as a direct mediator in the role of the four elements on the organization of life’s cycle. However important his role is as a biological body, man’s spiritual experience on Earth is equally important in finding his role and place within the universe.
LES ELEMENTS – WATER
This video is a live performance excerpt of our new work untitled les éléments. It was performed at the Butterfly Bar in the VORTEX, Austin, TX on 3/2/19.
It is based on the four natural elements: Wind-Water-Fire-Earth. It is a direct progression from our first work (UN)ROOTED. As we explored our roots as individual facing the society in (UN)ROOTED, les éléments offers an introspection into human root’s as a species. Where do we come from? How can we trace our human identity in each of the four natural elements? Each movement focus on one natural element and try to define how human kind was shaped by each of them.

SONIC & CHOREOGRAPHIC LAB
Each Sonic & Choreographic Lab is made of two parts: warmup, and Sonic & Choreographic Phrases. For each warmup, we decided to arbitrarily tie together each one of the four quality of sounds (pitch, duration, timber and intensity) with one of four other choreographic elements (amplitude-resistance, speed). Finally, the Sonic & Choreographic Phrases are focusing on a specific image, character, mood or idea. We chose: “The wave” and “a rolling drop of water”. Hand in hand, dancers and musicians build the phrase together using the technics of synesthesia, free improvisation and a number of musical and choreographic compositional devices.
